The best way to see Holland is by train. We hope your stay in our country will be a pleasant one. Perhaps you already have some idea of the cities or attractions you would like to visit while you are here.

Train services in Holland are very frequent, and the Dutch rail network is the densest in the world with over 350 stations. You can therefore be sure the main Dutch attractions can easily be reached by train. Between the main cities, services are provided by fast InterCity trains, between the smaller cities and villages by local trains.

In the west of the country, you can count on at least four trains an hour between major cities like Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht. The stations are located in the very heart of each city, making it easy to drop in for a visit. And even when you travel further in Holland, you can be sure of at least two trains per hour between most stations. It Is not possible to make reservations for domestic trains. For international train tickets you can do so at an International ticket office or travel agency.

For your international trips you can travel with Thalys (a high speed train that links Amsterdam to Brussels and Paris, 4 times a day in about 4 hours). To Antwerp and Brussels you can take the InterCity train that run every hour. From Brussels you can take the Eurostar, the European high speed train, that takes you to the heart of London. For Thalys and Eurostar you will have to pay a supplement. There are 7 direct nighttrains from Amsterdam (resp. To Paris, Munich, Berlin, Basel/Bern, Vienna, Milano and in summer to Prague). F or the nighttrains you can reserve accommodation. In the summer there is an international train to Luxemburg (every Saturday and Sunday). 9 EuroCity-trains run every day from Amsterdam to Koln, 2 going through Switzerland.

SERVICE ON THE TRAIN AND RAILWAY STATION

On most Dutch InterCity trains you can order coffee or snacks from the mini-bar. This mini-bar passes up and down the train throughout the journey and serves you at your seat.

US $ 3,50 per person, irrespective of the distance. Treintaxi is not available in Amsterdam, Hague and Rotterdam. You can buy your ticket at the ticket office or ticket machine.

STORING LUGGAGE
